MONTHLY MEETINGS

Our meetings are usually on the first  Saturday of the month at 9am.  However, the September meeting is September 8th.  There are no meetings in July and August.

DONATIONS TO BENEFIT POST 53

The Community Thrift Shop in Midland Park Shopping Center will take donations on behalf of American Legion post 53.  Our donation number is 13.

APPROPRIATE DISPOSAL of AMERICAN FLAGS
There  are TWO  deposit sites to drop off used, tattered  and worn American Flags.
One is in the village hall on 2nd floor at Police Desk.
One is at the Ridgewood R.R.station outside the ticket office.

 2018 Upcomming Events

Monday May 28th Memorial Day service at Van Neste Square starting at 11am.  If it rains, the event will be held at Mt. Carmel Church.

Thursday June 14, Flag Day, members of Post 53 will visit the 6 elementary schools to discuss flag etiquette.

Post 53 will again march in the Ridgewood July 4th parade.

Gold Star Families American Legion Post 53 will honor Gold Star Families for their sacrafice at Van Neste Square Sunday September 30th starting at 7pm.

Friday, October 12th Blue Star Family Dinner. The dinner will be held in the Parish Center of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church starting at 7pm.  All members of Ridgewood American Legion Post 53 are invited to salute and honor the numerous Blue Star Families in Ridgewood and the surrounding community. We will have a dinner for them in the parish hall of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on Friday, October 12th starting at 6:30 pm.  Please enter the center from the Passaic St. entrance in Ridgewood.  Please also bring a guest and family. STORY of AMERICA’S SPIRIT (The Wall)

From Monday November 12th to Sunday the 18th, an exhibit depicting America’s engagement in wars from the Revolution to the current war on Terrorism will be on display at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 155 Linwood Avenue, Ridgewood.  This will be the first time the traveling exhibit will be in the State of New Jersey.
